Rationale:

In order to protect the privacy of students and the confidentiality of patients or patient data that may be included in an instructional session, it is inappropriate for individuals not affiliated with the School of Medicine to attend School of Medicine instructional sessions without the prior approval of the Course, Clerkship, or Elective Director.  For the purposes of this document affiliates are defined as faculty and staff members and students. 

Scope and Applicability:

All students enrolled in the School of Medicine.

Procedures:

Individuals not affiliated with the School of Medicine wishing to attend an instructional session of the School of Medicine must receive prior permission from the appropriate Course, Clerkship, or Elective Director overseeing that instructional session or the Office of the Dean. Applicants to the OUWB School of Medicine wishing to attend an instructional session must additionally receive permission from the Assistant Dean for Medical School Admissions or designee.
