Cost of Attendance

How your Cost of Attendance is Determined


The Cost of Attendance is developed in accordance with federal regulations, using average expenses that a student might incur. It is the budget that the school will use to determine the maximum amount of financial assistance that a student may receive from all sources during a specific enrollment period.

The tuition component includes an OUWB portable computing device, health and disability insurance and recreation center membership.

Financial Assistance may only be used to pay for reasonable educational expenses of the student. The funds are not to be used to pay for the expenses of other family members or dependents.

If a student’s expenses exceed the school budget, the student must find resources independent of federal and institutional aid, such as help from family, friends or income earned from work, to cover those costs.

Graduate Plus Loan fees are approximated based upon the difference between the cost of attendance and the annual direct loan limit.

All Costs are Estimated, including tuition cost until the Oakland University Board of Trustees sets the New tuition rates in mid to late summer. The board reserves the right to change any and all tuition rates when circumstances make such a change necessary.
