The Meadow Brook Writing Project (MBWP) is a partnership between Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and local schools, including Detroit Public Schools, Macomb County schools, Oakland Community College and the Public School Academies of Oakland University. MBWP offers professional development opportunities for teachers and aims to improve student writing at all levels and in all subjects. The Meadow Brook Writing Project is a site of the National Writing Project and is affiliated with the Urban Sites Network.

Apply now for the 2010 Invitational Summer Institute. This year's institute will run from July 5 - July 30th.


Our half-day Youth Writing Workshops offer writers in grades 2-12 an opportunity to try their hands at a number of creative genres including mystery, science fiction, ghost stories, comic-books, and poetry. Check out the fun writing workshops we're offering this year.

Read about TC Cornelia Pokrzywa's Rochester Oral History Archive (ROHA) in the Rochester Post. The ROHA project, which is sponsored by a grant from Building the Civic 'Net and support from the MBWP, will archive oral histories from Rochester residents 50 years and older.
