Crime and information security statistics indicate that a laptop is stolen every 53 seconds and that 80 percent of the cost victims pay as a result of lost personal electronic devices is tied to data breaches. The new Michigan Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Matching Funds Program (MD.MFP), hosted by the Macomb-OU INCubator, recently kicked off its award process by granting $50,000 in matching funds to Badenoch, LLC, a Michigan small business conducting research and development in the defense and energy industries.
8/1/13 - Macomb-OU INC to help entrepreneurs vie for federal R&D funding
The Macomb-OU INCubator will host a training program on Thursday, Aug. 8, to help small technology businesses develop competitive proposals for federal research and development funding through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs at the Department of Defense (DOD). In all, 11 federal agencies make over $2.4 billion in high-risk, non-dilutive capital available each year.
