Macomb Pitch: A Competition for Small Businesses

October 14, 5 p.m. (applications due)

First Place: $8,500 (cash) | Mac-OU INC service package
Second Place: $1,500 (cash) | Mac-OU INC cubicle (one-year lease) | consultation with Butzel Long (5 hours) | strategic-planning session with Advicoach of Michigan (2 hours)
Third Place: $500 (cash) | Mac-OU INC cubicle (one-year lease) | consultation with Butzel Long (5 hours) | strategic-planning session with Advicoach of Michigan (2 hours)

Qualified Companies:
High-Growth Technology Companies | Michigan-Based Companies | $2.5M in Revenue (less than or equal to) | 5 Years in Business (less than or equal to)

Competition Deadlines:
Initial Applications Due: Tuesday, October 14, 2014, by 5 p.m.
Finalists Announced: Tuesday, October 28, 2014
Pitch Prep Sessions: Tuesday, November 18, 2014; Thursday, December 4, 2014
All finalists will need to attend one one-hour Pitch Prep session on either of the two listed dates. A Pitch Prep is a service offering at Mac-OU INC, and a requirement for all finalists in order to compete in the live competition. An hour of time will be donated from the incubator and top local business professionals to provide critical and constructive guidance to a fully-developed and thorough pitch.

Capital Raise Meetup

If you are a startup or early-stage growth-based business looking for funding, come meet and listen to capital expert, Mike Brennan. He will detail the various capital sources in Michigan and talk about how to properly position your company to be qualified for private funding, including private equity, the angel network and venture capital, and/or public funding, including grants, pre-seed, micro-loans and venture match. Mike will provide a group presentation, as well as individually help each present company to determine their needs.

Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition

November 5 & 6

With a Gala Award Evening featuring Susan Packard, the Co-Founder and COO of HGTV - the Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition (AMIC) is an international business competition celebrating its fifth year of connecting later-stage entrepreneurial companies with national and international investors.
