About Us

The Macomb-OU INCubator's mission is to provide comprehensive development and support services to startup and emerging businesses, create and support an entrepreneurial climate, commercialize new technologies, expand and cultivate a defense corridor, attract investment and create new jobs in Southeastern Michigan. Mac-OU INC aims to be the regional hub for accelerating economic growth in the targeted industries of defense, homeland security, advanced manufacturing and technology.
An incredible advantage to budding companies, a SmartZone provides a distinct geographical location where technology-based firms, entrepreneurs and researchers locate in close proximity to all of the community assets that assist in their endeavors. The facility is ready to host a number of companies with space for any size company.

The Macomb-OU INCubator is located within the Technology Advancement SmartZone of Sterling Heights and is a partnership between the City of Sterling Heights, Macomb County and Oakland University. The incubator is housed in the Velocity building, an initiative and collaboration center that is a catalyst for launching, developing, retaining and attracting commercial enterprise within its target industries.
