At Oakland, she commonly teaches introductory courses in American history as well as an upper-level course on "The History of Michigan" and has elsewhere offered upper-level courses on "The Early American Republic" and "The Era of the Civil War." She reached Ph.D. candidacy (ABD) at the University of Michigan before running out of money in the midst of dissertation research and has remained more-or-less happily below the radar ever since.
