How to Obtain your NetID, NetID Password, and Reset GrizzlyID Pin

These instructions will provide you with your NetID username, NetID password and steps to reset your GrizzlyID PIN. You must know your GrizzlyID number for these instructions to work. If you do not know this number, please see one of the following offices:

  1. Students - Current or former students go to any student services office with proper identification.
  2. Faculty - Academic Human Resources, 417 Wilson Hall, 248-370-2922

Reset GrizzlyID Pin

 

Visit the Oakland University NetID Administration page at https://netid.oakland.edu

1. Select: Reset/Change your GrizzlyID PIN

2. Enter your information exactly as it matches Oakland University's records. If you receive "The information provided does not match our records. Please try again!" at any point during the process please  double check that you entered your information or security question answer correctly. If you continue to receive this error message, please contact the appropriate department listed at the top of this page for further assistance.

3. You may receive the following Emergency Notification System message alerting that you are not registered for the emergency text alert system. Select the second option "I would like to answer/choose question" and then click submit.

4. If you do not get the above message about the Emergency Notification System, click the bottom option "Select or Answer Question" and then click submit. Selecting other options at this time is not advisable.

5. If you had previously set up your security question, you must enter the answer. If you do not set up your security question, you will be asked to set one up.  You must choose a questions and type in the answer.

6. If you do not know your Grizzly ID PIN hint answer, you will receive the error "The information provided does not match our records. Please try again." Contact the appropriate office listed at top of this page for further assistance.

7. Once you have successfully answered your Grizzly ID PIN hint question, it will ask you to reset your Grizzly ID PIN. The new Grizzly ID PIN must be six numbers, then click submit.

Obtain NetID or change NetID Password

Visit the Oakland University NetID Administration page at https://netid.oakland.edu

1. Select: Obtain your NetID account or reset your NetID password


NetID - Small

2. Enter your GrizzlyID with a capital "G" (Gxxxxxxxx)

3. Enter new PIN (6-digit)

4. The next two fields will create and verify your NetID password

Make sure the password meets the password requirements:

  • Have 8-15 alphanumeric characters
  • Have at least one number and one letter
  • It can not be your two last passwords
  • The letter cannot be all capitals

If this process is successful, the next page will provide your NetID username. NetID usernames and NetID passwords are used to access Oakland University resources such as mySAIL, Webmail, Moodle, and Oakshare.
