Oakland University provides access to the many available services via the Oakland University Portal. This document explains how Portal users can personalize their Portal landing page. The landing page is the first Web page that the user sees after logging into the Portal. Users may customize their page by either adding or removing portlets, which are the smaller windows on the landing page.

Q : How do I add a channel to my landing page?

A : Using the add content link under the customize my portal section, new channels can be added.

Click on the customize button under the Home tab:

Select a channel from the channel gallery, there are over 30 channels to choose from:

Q : How do I remove a channel from landing page?

A : use the x button to remove a channel. Some portlets do not have this option and are required.



Q : How do I Get to SAIL, Webmail, eBill, and Moodle?

A : SAIL and Webmail can be found on the Home tab:

Q : Why do I need to use the Sign Out button?

A : Signing out of the Portal will sign out of all open links. The sign out link is located in the top right corner of the portal.
