Graphic Design

The graphic design major covers design theory, design history, materials and processes, as well as graphic design studio/professional industry standards and practices.

Admittance into the Graphic Design Program is based on Oakland University GPA admittance policy. There are no current portfolio requirements. Incoming freshman interested in majoring in Graphic Design should declare a Pre-major Graphic Design status.  DES130 - Foundations of Graphic Design will be your first graphic design course. Students must earn a minimum of a 2.8 in both Foundation courses (SA102 and SA 104) in order to be admitted into DES130.

Contact Lynn Galbreath Fausone, Graphic Design Director, at
design@oakland.edu for questions on the new graphic design program.

Course advising questions should be directed to Meaghan Barry at
