There are many programs and events offered by the First Year Advising Center and a variety of campus offices and resources. Topics covered in the workshops include: time management, study skills and tips, preparation for your future career, a relaxing techniques.

Speed Networking

Speed Networking, modeled after speed dating, provides a way for alumni and professionals to share their expertise with the next generation of OU graduates and allows students the opportunity to learn more about Health Science careers, to practice networking and to discover potential job and internship leads in their field of interest. Alumni and professionals will be matched with different students for several 5 - 7 minute long sessions. In each session, you may discuss interviewing, resumes, professional dress, what it takes to be a competitive job candidate and the importance of a strong professional network.

All sessions are held from noon - 1 p.m.
(Reservations are not required. Please choose one session to attend)

Students interested in business are invited to attend and learn about different business majors, the business curriculum, student organizations, study abroad and other SBA engagement opportunities.

Although reservations are not required, students who email Adam McChesney at with their name and desired workshop date will start the workshop with a completed checklist illustrating how their previous credits and current schedule can apply toward a business degree.
