Adjusting Class Schedule

View the instructions below for assistance to adjust your class schedule. Modifications to your class schedule can affect your progress to degree and financial aid (if applicable).

Consult with your FYAC adviser before making alterations to your schedule.
Add a Course
  1. Open a web browser and go to oakland.edu.
  2. Click on MySAIL.
  3. Enter Your NetID username and password then click “Sign-In.”
  4. Under ‘Academic Resources’ select ‘Register for Classes.’
  5. Enter Your NetID username and password then click “Sign-In.”
  6. Select “Register for Classes.”
  7. Select the appropriate term you want to register for.
  8. Search for a course by entering the subject in the subject line then click search.
  9. Click ‘Add’ next to the class you would like to register for. Two panels will pop open.
  10. In the summary module, the action column next to the course, should say “Web Register”. Click “Submit.”
Step-by-Step Instructions
Drop a Course
  1. Open a web browser and go to oakland.edu.
  2. Click on MySAIL.
  3. Enter Your NetID username and password then click “Sign-In.”
  4. Under ‘Academic Resources’ select “Register for Classes.”
  5. Enter Your NetID username and password. Click “Sign-In.”
  6. Select “Register for Classes.”
  7. Select the appropriate term you want to register for.
  8. Select the button “Panels”
  9. Under the summary panel, identify the class you wish to drop and in the action column select “Web Dropped.”
  10. Click “Submit.” Check the summary panel to make sure the course has dropped.

Swap a Course
  1. Open a web browser and go to oakland.edu.
  2. Click on MySAIL.
  3. Enter Your NetID username and password then click Sign-In.”
  4. Under ‘Academic Resources’ select “Register for Classes.”
  5. Enter Your NetID username and password then click “Sign-In.”
  6. Select “Register for Classes.”
  7. Select the appropriate term you want to register for.
  8. Search for a course by entering the subject in the subject line then click search.
  9. In the summary module, select “Conditional Add and Drop.”
  10. Identify the class you wish to register for and click "Add."
  11. In the action column, select “Web Dropped" for the course you wish to drop and "Web Register" for the course you wish to register for.
  12. Click "Submit." Check the summary panel to make sure the course has been swapped.
