Early/Middle College

Early/Middle college programs offer students a unique opportunity to earn college credit while in high school. Oakland University welcomes students participating in Early/Middle College programs to apply and enroll at OU.

Early/Middle college students are considered entering freshmen if they plan to attend OU immediately after receiving their high school diploma. Oakland University considers students who complete college-level work prior to receiving their high school diploma as entering freshmen. Even if an associate's degree is earned prior to high school graduation, students are still considered entering freshmen.

Early/Middle college students are considered transfers if they decide to continue pursuing college work after receiving their high school diploma.

Regardless of admission type students may be awarded transfer credit that will determine their class standing. Students will receive a transfer credit evaluation upon submission of official transcripts and admission to OU. Students can also use our transfer guides and transfer equivalency tool to see how credits transfer. Tuition is assessed based on a student's class standing.

If you have questions regarding your student status, please contact an admissions adviser at (800) OAK-UNIV.
