Toni S. and Kenneth Walters Student Literacy Scholarship

Dr. Toni S. Walters was influential during her Oakland University teaching career. A number of her former students, as a tribute to her influence, celebrated her career and retirement by honoring Dr. Walters with gifts toward a scholarship bearing her and her husband’s name. Dr. Walters then established an endowment to support the scholarship, ensuring annual tuition awards will benefit students studying literacy. The award can be used for tuition, fees, books and other costs associated with enrollment in the School of Education and Human Services.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee, and each applicant will receive notification of the committee's decision.

I understand that if I fail to meet the above criteria for the award, the award will be rescinded and given to another eligible student. I will then be liable to pay back the full amount of the award to Oakland University.
