Richard Flynn

  Richard Flynn was appointed to OU’s Board by Trustees in August 2008. Flynn was a teacher for Fraser Public Schools for 27 years and served on the Michigan Education Association Board of Directors and its Executive Committee during much of that time. Since his retirement from Fraser Public Schools in 2000, Flynn has worked as an executive director for the Michigan Education Association. Currently, he is the president of the Michigan Executive Directors Association. He previously acted as a delegate for the National Education Association for twenty years and served on the Michigan Higher Education Facilities Commission. He earned a master’s degree in education from Oakland University in 1976 and a bachelor’s degree in education from Wayne State University in 1970. He continues to work on Macomb County issues that expand opportunities for its residents to increase educational and employment opportunities.
