Stephen Filler has been at Oakland University since 2006. He received his Ph.D. in Japanese from Ohio State University and conducted his doctoral research at Osaka University. His research interests include Japanese anarchism, Japanese naturalist literature, romanticism, and historical fiction. He teaches courses in Japanese language, business Japanese, modern and traditional literature, and culture, and is a faculty member of International Studies.
