The 2nd American Studies Colloquium will feature Hester Blum, associate professor of English at Penn State University and associate director of the Institute for the Arts and Humanities. She is the author of "The View From the Masthead: Maritime Imagination and Antebellum American Sea Narratives." This event is complimentary and open to the Oakland community and general public.
