 10pt;"> Lim examines the political economy of the international financial cr
 ises and focuses on the channels that led to the Great Recession in 2008. Si
 nce then, the US economy has been recovering slowly and the European countri
 es are still battling with high debt to GDP ratios. Dr. Lim, with his profes
 sional expertise and rigorous research background, will shed light on the ca
 uses and consequences of the crisis. </span></p>\n<p><strong><span style="fo
 nt-size: 10pt;">About Dr. Jamus Jerome Lim</span></strong><span style="font-
 size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;"><br />\nDr. Jamus Jerome Lim is a senior Eco
 nomist at the World Bank in the Development Prospect Group unit. He is also 
 currently a Research Associate at the Santa Cruz Institute for International
  Economics and a research consultant for the GLG (</span><span style="font-s
 ize: 10pt; line-height: 115%;">Gerson Lehrman Group).</span><span style="fon
 t-size: 10pt; line-height: 115%;"> Previously, Dr. Jamus Jerome Lim was an A
 ssistant Professor of Economics at Centre College (Kentucky) and a Research 
 Associate in the Regional Economic Studies department at the Institute of So
 utheast Asian Studies in Singapore.</span> </p>\n<p style="line-height: norm
 al; background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white;"><span style="font-size: 10p
 t;">Dr. Lim received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Santa Cr
 uz and his Master of Science in Economics from London School of Economics. H
 is research interests are International Economics, Political Economics, Deve
 lopment Economics, Applied Econometrics and Positive Political Economy Theor
 y. His research has been published in a number of academic journals, includi
 ng the <em>Journal of Policy Modeling</em>, <em>Economics of Transition</em>
 , <em>Journal of Bioeconomics</em>, <em>Journal of Economic Education</em>, 
 and the <em>Journal of International Development</em>. In addition to publis
 hing in scholarly journals, Dr. Lim has presented his research at more than 
 30 conferences, workshops and seminars. Last March, he received a $68,000 re
 search support grant from the World Bank to promote his research in Internat
