A week long celebration of banned and challenged books! Come in to the OUWC to hear a daily reading of a passage from a banned book.

Choose a book that was banned or challenged, select a passage, then create an erasure text. Submit up to three entries by 5PM on Friday, January 31 for the chance to be featured on the OUWC website!

Need some inspiration? Here are the top five most frequently banned books:

1. The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald
2. The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger
3. The Grapes of Wrath, by John Steinbeck
4. To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee
5. The Color Purple, by Alice Walker
