Professor Seong Cho, professor of accounting, presents training workshop series for stock market trading cases and fundamental analysis tools in preparation for the Society for Applied Investing and Financial Education (SAIFE) first trade competition of 2013.

The workshops are open to the public and will be held Thursdays, 5 to 6 p.m.: Jan. 10 (449H Elliott Hall); Jan. 17 and Jan. 24 (234 Elliott Hall).

The SAIFE student organization designed to teach students the basics of financial investing, it strives to help members avoid potentially devastating financial missteps by offering them a safe way to practice their new-found skills.

Registration deadline for the stock competition is Feb. 10. The competition runs through April 12. In the stock competition individual members will use a computer model to make mock investments based on real stock prices. The participant who realizes the highest returns at the end of each semester wins a prize.
