In the 1960s, a riotous group of upstart British music rebels rocked the world and invaded our hearts and souls with some of the greatest songs ever written and performed. The invasion was led by the Beatles, whose first U.S. performances in 1964 influenced everything that came afterwards. The new, less innocent sound reflected the changing politics of a country disturbed by our involvement in Vietnam and increasingly inclined to question authority.
