Note: It would be irresponsible for an advisor to suggest this course of study to all but the most exceptional student. The heavy content of time-consuming laboratory courses and the freshman year content of essential prerequisites pose a serious risk of burnout. Furthermore, the relatively small amount of time devoted to research activities compromises what is without a doubt the biggest advantage Oakland University offers to our chemistry majors. The term “elective” may not be completely “free” in that this table does not address the university requirement of having 32 credits at the 300/400 level.
Please note: Student on scholarship or financial aid must be in a minimum of 12 credits per semester
