The major is a minimum of 40 credits. All majors take SOC 100, SOC 202, SOC 203 and SOC 400 comprising 16 credits. In addition, students are required to select a course from each of the four primary categories of the major (interaction processes, social issues, social institutions, and social inequality and change) and two additional elective courses at the 300/400 level for 24 additional credits. The term “elective” may not be completely “free” in that this table does not address the university requirement of having 32 credits at the 300/400 level.
Please note: Student on scholarship or financial aid must be in a minimum of 12 credits per semester
