PSY 100 is a prerequisite course for the major, as a whole.  PSY 250 is a “hard” prerequisite for all courses numbered higher, that is PSY 251 and all 300-level and 400-level courses.  Students must also demonstrate competency in intermediate algebra in order to take PSY 251.  Competency is demonstrated by students earning an ACT score of 22 or higher, passing the math equivalency exam at a level “R” or higher, or passing MTH 062 with a 2.0 or higher.  Students are required to take two (2) of five (5) introduction to psychological survey courses, namely PSY 215, 225, 235, 241 and 245.  They also are required to take one (1) course in each of the domains:  Basic Processes, Developmental, Social, and Personality and Individual Differences.  Last, students are required to take two (2) electives in the major, which might include a capstone course in psychology.  The term “elective” may not be completely “free” in that this table does not address the university requirement of having 32 credits at the 300/400 level.

Please note: Student on scholarship or financial aid must be in a minimum of 12 credits per semester
