Appointments
Admitted or prospective Oakland University students can schedule half-hour appointments with an Academic Adviser as needed when they have questions about their major program, class scheduling or any issue related to their academic progress at Oakland University.

If you are not an Oakland University student or if your OU email account has been inactivated, please call (248) 370-3285 for appointment options. All active Oakland University students, should use the advising portal link provided to schedule an appointment.
The SBA ADVISING OFFICE is located in 232 Elliott Hall. Please check in at the reception desk upon arrival. You will need to know your OU email and password to sign in to your appointment and will need to bring a photo ID with you. Please click here for campus map and directions.
Students can also refer general questions to our SBA advising email address at sbaug@oakland.edu. Email inquiries should be general in nature. If you have several questions, or very detailed questions about academic problems or your academic program, you should handle these during an appointment with an Academic Adviser. We cannot schedule appointments via email.
Walk-in Advising
Walk-in advising is first come, first served until the maximum limit is reached. Sign-in begins approximately 30 minutes before the starting time. To ensure that you will be seen, arrive early and be prepared to wait. Bring something to occupy your time.
During particularly busy times of the year, such as the first few weeks of registration or the start of classes, advisers are available only through walk-in advising to meet the high demand for advising. Walk-in advising is intended for single semester and urgent issues only. For long-term planning, career advising and all other issues, an appointment is always the preferred method to get all the answers you need.
