OU’s defending Summit League champion men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will take on Indiana-Purdue-Indianapolis in this competition.

Ticket prices for OU Swimming and Diving competitions are as follows:

Alumni Welcome Reception

Meadow Brook Hall

Join fellow Oakland University alumni during this elegant evening reception at the “home” of OU, Meadow Brook Hall. Enjoy appetizers and a cash bar while reconnecting with friends and former classmates. Tours of the Hall will also be available. This event is free, but space is limited, so register now at www.grizzlink.oualumni.com/events. Attire for this adult reception is business casual. 


OU Hall of Honor Ceremony

Take part in OU’s honored tradition – Guard the Grizz – and help ensure that OU’s treasured mascot is untouched prior to the game. A Car Smash is also planned.

OU Alumni Association Family Festival
2 – 4:30 p.m.

This family-friendly event is an annual favorite. Enjoy inflatable attractions like the bounce house and bungee run, get your black and gold on at the face-painting booth, and fill up on a tailgate-style food buffet. Spread throughout the lower level of the Recreation Center, the OUAA Family Festival is free to attend and registration is not required.

Men’s Basketball Game
5 – 7 p.m.
Athletics Center O’rena

Gather your Grizzly spirit to cheer on the OU men’s basketball team as they host Summit League rival Western Illinois University. A Mitten Toss, put on by the swim team as a community service project, will be held at half time. Swimmers will be on the court and collecting mittens, scraves, hats and gloves that patrons bring in to donate by throwing them down onto the court. They will be donated to the Pontiac Light House. Game ticket pricing can be found at ougrizzlies.com. .

Casino Night
7:30 p.m. – midnight
Oakland Center, Banquet Rooms

Student Program Board and University Housing present Casino Night, featuring blackjack, craps, roulette, slot machines, and many more games of chance. Students will play for fun to win raffle tickets for big prizes at the end of the night. The evening will also showcase musicians and novelty acts along with a buffet of food all night long.


Southpaw Isle Steel Band Concert
8 p.m.
Varner Recital Hall

Admission $8 students; $14 general

Mark Stone, Lesley-Anne Stone, Issa Sall and Miguel Gutierrez present original compositions and arrangements for steel drums. While rooted in Caribbean pan tradition, Southpaw Isle continually stretches the steelband sound. The group's repertoire is shaped by a wide range of musical traditions, including American jazz, Brazilian samba, and Trinidadian calypso. The group has presented numerous workshops, assemblies, and concerts, including the world premiere of “A Caribbean Christmas Mass” for orchestra, chorus, and steelband.
