Professional Staff
Omar Brown-El is the Director of the Center for Multicultural Initiatives (CMI). His work focuses on designing, implementing and evaluating university-wide student recruitment and retention support programs and services to specifically support the university's mission and goal of achieving and graduating a diverse student body. Mr. Brown-El also concentrates on advocating for systematic change within the institution and on building internal and external relationships with faculty, staff and the OU community to help all students, but particularly underrepresented students, succeed. Omar provides leadership and training to promote diversity throughout all aspects of the university. He also administers departmental programming and student employee's budgets, and provides direct training and supervision to graduate interns and to para-professional staff.

Bridget Green is the Assistant Director for the Center for Multicultural Initiatives. Her work focuses on designing, implementing and evaluating University-wide student support programs and services designed to increase retention and graduation rates of underrepresented students. She administers departmental programming and budgets as well as trains and supervises graduate interns and para-professional staff. Bridget conducts diversity training, oversees the programming for African American Celebration. She is the advisor for The Circle of Sisterhood and Xpressiv B.T.Z. Bridget also serves as secretary for the Administrative Professional Assembly for OU, is a member of the American Counseling Association, Cambridge Who’s Who and The National Association of Professional Women and NASPA.

Nicole Lucio is the Retention Coordinator for the Center for Multicultural Initiatives. Her primary responsibility involves the monitoring of scholarship requirements for over 150 scholarship students. She is also responsible for the supervision and leadership development of CMI Peer Mentors. In addition Ms. Lucio develops, implements, and monitors retention strategies to ensure student success as well as interacts with student organizations and develops a strong rapport between students and the CMI and oversees the programming Hispanic Celebration Month.She is a member of the American Counseling Association and NASPA.

Arthur L. Hampton is the C.O.R.E. Program Coordinator for the Center for Multicultural Initiatives. He is originally from Birmingham, Alabama and is a graduate of Alabama A & M University and Eastern Michigan University. As the C.O.R.E. Program Coordinator, he oversees: The CORE Program, which includes the OU CMI Summer Bridge Program, which is a weeklong residential academic enrichment program for incoming first year students; The Circle of Brotherhood, which is an all male peer mentoring group that meets weekly aimed at assisting young men in reaching their full potential; The CORE Alumni group, which provides support to students beyond their first year. He is a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honor Education Honor Society, American College Personnel Association (ACPA) and Michigan College Personnel Association (MCPA).

Nina Beaulieu is the Administrative Assistant for the Center for Multicultural Initiatives. Her primary responsibility is to provide clerical support to the Director and his staff. Nina is the first point of contact for students who are seeking to apply for loans, scholarships or to make an appointment with a CMI counselor and will provide support by answering questions and help point them in the right direction. Nina comes to OU with 20+ years of experience in the administrative field.
