Interns
Denise Jones is the Counseling Intern for the Center for Multicultural Initiatives. Her primary role includes meeting weekly with and monitoring the scholarship requirements for 40 scholarship students (OUTAS, McCree, and Compact). Ms. Jones is involved with CMI’s African American Celebration Month and Taste of Africa Gala. Additionally, Ms. Jones is the co-facilitator of The Circle of Sisterhood (COS) and assists in the facilitation of diversity workshops and trainings. She is also a member of Chi Sigma Iota – Theta Chapter, the international honor society for professional counselors, counselor educators, and students, and a former Keeper of the Dream Award recipient.

Melina Lescoe is the Marketing/Graphic Design Intern for the
Center for Multicultural Initiatives. Melina is a Freshman at Oakland
University majoring in English and Cinema Studies. She is an Oakland
University Trustee Academic Success (OUTAS) scholar and a member of the
Honors College. In her spare time, Melina enjoys drawing, watching movies, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
