Doug Thiel has over 25 years of environmental, industrial hygiene, safety and emergency response experience. His current position is Team Leader, Site Liaison Program at BASF Corporation in Wyandotte, Michigan. He is responsible for the management of EH&S support activities for 57 BASF facilities within the NAFTA region. He has had a 28-year career at BASF Corporation and has held a variety of positions at both the site level and within the Corporate Ecology and Safety Department. In addition, he has worked a Lecturer at Oakland University for 20 years teaching a variety of industrial hygiene and emergency response courses. Doug holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Central Michigan in Biology and a Master of Science Degree from Wayne State University in Occupational and Environmental Health. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and has been the Midwest Coordinator of BASF's Emergency Response Team for 15 years. Doug is a member of the Michigan Industrial Hygiene Society and the American Industrial Hygiene Association.
