OPPORTUNITY
Graduate Assistantship at Miami University

I met with Kelly Dorner from Career Services a few days before applying to a highly selective graduate assistantship program at Miami University. I initially came to the Career Services office to have my resume reviewed and ask a few general questions, however Kelly also helped me to prepare for the interview process as well.

Visiting the Career Services office not only helped me set expectations for the interview, but also helped me organize my thoughts so that I felt very comfortable walking in. During the interview, I was able to convey my experiences, my intentions with the program and how I was a unique candidate deserving of a graduate position effectively. The administrators who interviewed me responded well to my confidence and extended a graduate assistantship offer for Assistant Resident Director.

Looking back on my success, visiting Career Services was the determining factor in attaining the job. Visiting Career Services is a must before graduation.
