Walk-In Registration on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
No jeans with tears or holes for the performance.
Please make sure you check-in at 9:30 am in the lobby of the first floor Varner Hall for welcome and instructions. It is best to enter the doors that have 'Varner Hall / Varner Recital Hall' posted above it. Someone will be available to welcome you and direct you to the band room for the first session.
- Please don't forget your lunch.
- Parents are encourage to visit the nearby open air mall in Rochester, The Village. You will find many shops and coffee houses in the area that you'll be able to enjoy during the day. We'd then love to have you join us at 5 p.m. for the concert that all participants will perform along with our OU Brass Band in the Recital Hall.
Brief itinerary for the day:
9:30 am - check-in, get your tee-shirt
10 am - Breathing Gym & Group Warm-up - Recital Hall
10:30 am - Reading Session & Ensemble Skills - Recital Hall
12 pm - Lunch - 110 VAR
1 pm - Clinic & Sectionals with OU Brass Faculty & Students - multiple rooms
2:30 pm - Brass Band Rehearsal - 110 VAR
4 pm - Break (snack provided / get ready for the Concert) - 110 VAR
5 pm - Concert with the OU Brass Day Band & OU Brass Band - Recital Hall - This concert is open to the public and all parents and friends are welcome!
Directions:
- Entering at Meadow Brook Road from Adams Road: Follow Meadow Brook past Festival and East Oakland and turn left at Ravine Drive, bear right to Pioneer Drive, then right at Varner Drive (Parking Lot 26)
- Entering at East Oakland Dr. from Walton Blvd.: Turn right onto Meadow Brook Road, left on Ravine Drive, bear right to Pioneer Drive, then right at Varner Drive (Parking Lot 26)
- Entering at West Oakland Dr. from Walton Blvd.: Turn left onto Meadow Brook Road, right on Ravine Drive, bear right to Pioneer Drive, then right at Varner Drive (Parking Lot 26)
- Entering at University Drive: Follow the traffic circle to Meadow Brook Road (1st right), then turn left at Pioneer Drive and left again at Library Drive. Turn right into Parking Lot 34, which becomes Varner Drive. (Parking Lots 36, 24 and 26)
- Entering at Pioneer Drive from Squirrel: Turn left at Library Drive, right into Parking Lot 34, which becomes Varner Drive. (Parking Lots 36, 24 and 26)
- Follow signs to 2nd floor Recital Hall registration table and look out for our students to help direct you.
