Research: The physiological and molecular regulation of the intracellular signaling that contribute to cardiovascular diseases.  

Dr. Banes-Berceli is currently investigating hypertension and the renal and vascular complications of diabetes. Her research projects involve using a combination of an in vivo physiological approach as well as a molecular approach. The following research projects are currently in progress:

  1. ANG II and JAK2 interactions in hypertension
  2. Regulation of protein phosphatases which control the JAK/STAT in vivo
  3. Mechanisms of serotonin's interaction with angiotensin II and ET-1
