Anna M. Huebner, RN, Endowed Tuition Award |
| Description | This award of $1,500 was established by Dr. and Mrs. James Huebner to honor the memory of Dr. Huebner’s mother, Anna M. Huebner, RN. It is the hope of Dr. and Mrs. Huebner that this award will encourage students to pursue careers in nursing.
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible:
- Fully enrolled in basic BSN program or Accelerated Second Degree BSN program as stated on the student’s School of Nursing Plan of Study.
- Have achieved a minimum overall Oakland University GPA of 3.2 or above with preference given to the candidate with the highest GPA.
- Student in good academic and disciplinary standing according to Oakland University and School of Nursing standards.
- Applicants must attach a one-page essay explaining why you chose the nursing profession as your career.

Barbara A. Calam Oncology Nursing Endowed Scholarship |
| Description | This $2,000 scholarship was created by Roger Calam, Ph.D. and Mrs. Barbara A. Calam to encourage outstanding nursing students in the Basic BSN program to pursue careers in oncology patient care. The endowment honors the dedicated nursing career of Barbara A. Calam, RN, who worked for 20 years in oncology at St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital in Clinton Township.
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible:
- Have completed at least one semester in the basic BSN program.
- Fully enrolled in basic BSN program as stated on the student’s School of Nursing Plan of Study.
- Have achieved a minimum overall Oakland University GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Student in good standing according to Oakland University and School of Nursing standards.
Applicants must submit a one page statement with their application explaining why they are planning to focus on oncology nursing. Preference will be given to students desiring to pursue a career in oncology nursing.
Recipients will be eligible to receive the award for one additional academic year of undergraduate studies if they continue to meet the eligibility, selection and renewal requirements as stated above.

Barbara and Allen Gough Scholarship |
| Description |
Barbara and Allen Gough have made a generous gift to provide a $8,500 scholarship to a student enrolled in the Human Resource Development program at OU. An award committee will select the recipient. The winner will be notified of the award by mail.
This award is approximately $8,500 and may be renewed if the student recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements. The scholarship may be used for tuition and books.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Undergraduate students in Human Resource Development department
- Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
- Have previously had their studies interrupted for 2 years or more
Examples of Interrupted Studies:
Students may have many reasons and examples of interrupted studies. Interruptions may occur in the completion of high school, delay in post-secondary education or completion of college. To clarify what is meant by "interrupted studies", several examples follow. Please note that there are many more examples of interrupted studies that would be relevant, and as a result this list is not exhaustive.
- Graduating from high school, moving on to the military for two years or more and then enrolling at Oakland University sometime later.
- Graduating from high school and enrolling at Oakland University at least two years later.
- Completing a GED as an adult and continuing on to study at Oakland University.
- Completion of an associate's degree and enrolling at Oakland University at least two years later.
- Beginning undergraduate work at Oakland University or another four-year institution, discontinuing studies for two years or more and returning to complete an undergraduate degree at Oakland University
Application for this scholarship does not need to occur at the beginning of the student's time at Oakland University. Students may have been enrolled for some time and should be currently enrolled at OU.

| Description | Established by
The Barnes & Noble Bookstore on the campus of Oakland University to provide
funds for students with emergency or unusual financial situations to purchase
books. Awards are subject to the student circumstances, availability of funding,
and financial aid regulations and policies. Awards are not renewable. Awards

Baskin (Henry) Scholarship |
| Description | Scholarships are available for students who do not qualify for other financial aid or scholarships and who will have financial difficulty in making the dream of an undergraduate degree a reality. Eligible students must be enrolled full-time for consideration. Preference is given to students from single-parent households and single-parent families. To apply for the scholarship, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Full-time enrollment is required. The award is renewable by maintaining continuous full-time undergraduate enrollment in the fall and winter semesters, completion of full-time credits, and meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements. The maximum award is eight consecutive fall and winter semesters. Awards are made by the Office of Financial Aid. |

Bunting and Briggs Freedom of the Press Scholarship |
| Description | A scholarship awarded to a student majoring in journalism who plans to work as a reporter upon graduation and is currently employed at least 20 hours per week at a professional newspaper or works for an Oakland University student newspaper in a staff writer or editor capacity. Campus Activity Awards |
| Description | These awards promote the development of campus-wide student leadership. Up to 15 awards are given by the Dean of Students. Some awards are attached to elected or appointed leadership positions, others based on leadership projects approved through the Dean of Students’ office. Two leadership awards are available through the Center for Student Activities (CSA). Students must have a minimum 2.00 GPA; be enrolled full time (at least 12 credits) for each semester receiving the award, must be elected or appointed to the position(s) having the awards attached to them, or appointed to complete a particular leadership project. Applications are available in March. Information concerning these awards is available from the Dean of Students and the Center for Student Activities and Leadership offices. Awards are made by the Center for Student Activities. |

| Description | This $1,000 award is presented by Mr. Dale O’Hara of Berkley, Michigan, in memory of nursing student and friend, Carol Ann Weber.

Commuter Involvement Awards |
| Description | These awards recognize those commuting students who may have made contributions to improve the quality of campus life through their participation in campus activities and student organizations. These awards are given for one academic year in the amount of $250 per semester ($500 per academic year). Recipients must reapply each year to renew their awards. Applicants must: have attended OU for one year; have a GPA of 2.50 at the start of the academic year for which the award is given; carry 12 credits for each semester the award is received; and remain in good disciplinary standing. Nominations are in March. Awards are made by the Office of The Center for Student Activities. |

| Description | The purpose of this $2,500

First Year Focus Award |
| Description | Awarded to sophomore students who did not earn an OU academic merit scholarship as entering freshmen, completed 28 or more OU credits in the fall and winter semesters of their first academic year and achieved a 3.0 or greater cumulative grade point average (GPA). Continuous full-time enrollment in OU credits is required each fall and winter semester. The award is renewable by maintaining a minimum 3.00 cumulative OU GPA, continuous full-time undergraduate enrollment in the fall and winter semesters, completion of full-time credits, and meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements. Students may use scholarships for the fall, winter and summer semesters in the single academic year designated by the university, not to exceed six semesters total. | Description | This is a non-renewable, $5,000 scholarship. This scholarship was named after Michigan State Representative Frances C. It was established to reward outstanding students who exemplify her commitment to community service and the pursuit of personal and academic excellence.

Gina and Jeff Petherick Endowed Scholarship Award |
| Description | The Gina and Jeff Petherick Endowed Scholarship was created to help those pursuing a Human Resource Development degree, whose lives are guided by strong values and principles, and who possess a desire to love and serve others less fortunate as they journey through life.
This non-renewable award is approximately $1,000-$2,000 and may vary year to year. The scholarship may be used for tuition and books.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Full or part-time undergraduate student with a declared major in the Human Resource Development program
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 overall as well as in coursework in the declared major
- Completed application and essay. The essay should detail the student's interest in his or her prospective career in the field of Human Resource Development and include insights on the importance of ethics, compassion and service to others.

International First-time Undergraduate to Oakland University Scholarship |
| Description | Scholarship applicants must be newly admitted to Oakland University as first-time, undergraduate, international students, who intend to be F-1 or J-1 visa holders. (Transfer students currently in the United States are eligible.)
Students must have a minimum, equivalent GPA of 3.0 from a previous institution. Applicants must demonstrate active involvement in community service activities in their home countries or previous institutions, such as student leadership roles, student advocacy, organizing and planning school or community programming, and improving the overall quality of life in their communities. Scholarship recipients are required to contribute in meaningful ways to campus activities at OU during their first semester.
Applications must be returned to the International Students and Scholars Office in person, 157 North Foundation Hall. This scholarship is awarded in both fall and winter semesters, with two winners per semester. Please see the application for specific deadlines. |

International Scholarly Achievement Award |
| Description |
This award is made annually to one qualified Oakland University international student whose scholarly excellence is clearly recognized within the academic community. Scholarship applicants must be full-time, returning international students of undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. levels, who hold an F-1 or J-1 visa. Students must have a minimum OU GPA of 3.5. Applicants must demonstrate significant scholarly or creative contributions of national or international reputation in a given field during their studies at OU, which may include articles, essays, books, other scholarly publications and/or presentations at academic conferences. One to three sealed letters of recommendation, a typed personal statement, and resume or curriculum vitae should accompany the submitted application.

International Service Award |
| Description |
Two awards are given, one in fall and one in winter, to Oakland University students who demonstrate active involvement in out-of-class activities at OU during the year the award is made, such as student leadership roles, student advocacy, promoting cross-cultural programming, and improving the overall quality of life of the Oakland community. The recipients of this award must be full-time, returning international students, who have a minimum OU GPA of 2.0 for undergraduates and 3.0 for graduates.
Applications must be returned to the International Students and Scholars Office in person, 157 North Foundation Hall. This scholarship is awarded in both fall and winter semesters, with one winner per semester. Please see the application for specific deadlines.

Jeff Dupuis Award in Human Resource Development |
| Description | The W. Jeff Dupuis Award in Human Resource Development emphasizes and supports the opportunities for students to engage in theoretical and practical learning experiences in the area of labor and employment relations. Awardees will be selected based on their minor course of study, GPA, and essay. Full- and part-time students are encouraged to apply. Successful recipient(s) will be notified of the award by mail. Award recipients who continue to meet the award requirements are eligible to reapply for future awards.
Eligibility Requirements:
- a declared minor course of study in Labor and Employment Studies or Employment Studies and Standards
- a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
- Submit a written essay of between 500 and 750 words discussing the applicant's career goals and/or accomplishments as they relate to the study of labor and work in conjunction with the facilitation of the success of the American worker
Recipients can reapply for the Jeff Dupuis Award if the student recipient continues to meet eligibility requirements (amounts may vary from year to year). As many as two awards will be given per academic year.
Applicants applying for other awards in the School of Education and Human Services are eligible to apply for the W. Jeff Dupuis Award as well. Students can apply for and be considered for more than one award from the School of Education and Human Services.

Ken Morris Center for the Study of Labor and Work Scholarship |
| Description | The endowment supports the Ken Morris Center and the labor relations program, as well as scholarships for students studying labor relations.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Labor and Employment Studies declared as your minor
- Cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0
- Have at least 12 credit hours remaining to be completed before graduation
- Be nominated by two active labor union members using the nomination form
- An essay of between 500 and 750 words describing your career goals and/or accomplishments as they relate to the study of labor and work and facilitation of the success of the American worker.

| Description | This award of $1,000 was established by William Headley and his children, in memory of Lorraine Headley, a dedicated nurse, healthcare executive, School of Nursing Board of Visitors member, wife and mother. Marjorie K. Simmons Endowed Fund |
| Description | Marjorie K. Simmons, a member of the School of Education and Human Services Resource Development Board, established an endowed award in 2008 to benefit undergraduate students in the School. By creating the award to be renewable for up to 5 years, Ms. Simmons has a lasting impact on the recipient of the Marjorie K. Simmons Endowed Fund. The recipient has a consistent award to rely on each year while financing his or her college education.
The Marjorie K. Simmons Endowed Fund is $1,000 per year for up to five consecutive years to any undergraduate student in the School of Education and Human Services who has demonstrated leadership skills.

Stephan and Rita Sharf Endowed Scholarship |
| Description | The Stephan and Rita Sharf Endowed Scholarship was established with the School of Business Administration at Oakland University to assist a talented student pursuing a career in business administration. This one-year scholarship is for tuition and books recognizing the plight of many able students who, for the lack of adequate financial resources, are unable to complete the higher education and training necessary to enter the professional field of business.
Candidates seeking nomination for the Stephan and Rita Sharf Endowed Scholarship must submit the following:
- Stephan and Rita Sharf Endowed Scholarship Application.
- A letter of recommendation from a faculty member in the School of Business Administration and/or an Oakland University Administrator outside the School of Business.
- Copy of Financial Aid award letter received from OU.*
- A written statement that addresses the applicant's financial need.

TMBKS Family Scholarship Award |
| Description | Congratulations to the 2013 winner, Lauren Wolf.
This scholarship, applied to OU tuition and fees, is available to qualified undergraduate junior or senior students who have achieved major standing in Decision and Information Sciences.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a undergraduate student at the time of application.
- Be a Michigan resident.
- Be admitted to major standing in Decision and Information Sciences (DIS) based upon completion of SBA requirements.
- Have at least a 3.00 overall GPA.
- Have at least a 3.40 GPA over all courses in MIS, POM and QMM taken beyond the required precore and core SBA courses (such as MIS 200 and 300, POM 343 and QMM 240 and 241).
General Information:
- Extracurricular and community activities will be considered in the selection process.
- The DIS winner will be selected by the department. Decision of the committee is final.

Toni S. and Kenneth Walters Student Literacy Scholarship |
| Description | Dr. Toni S. Walters was influential during her Oakland University teaching career. A number of her former students, as a tribute to her influence, celebrated her career and retirement by honoring Dr. Walters with gifts toward a scholarship bearing her and her husband’s name. With those gifts, Dr. Walters is establishing an endowment for an annual tuition award benefiting students studying literacy.
The award can be used for tuition, fees, books and other costs associated with enrollment in the School of Education and Human Services.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Full or part-time undergraduate, masters or doctoral student with a declared major in the Reading and Language Arts program
Please note since there is not an undergraduate Reading and Language Art program currently, the committee has selected to use Reading courses on an applicant’s transcript as evidence of studying literacy when evaluating undergraduate student applications.
- Maintain a 3.2 or higher GPA.
- Discussing how they serve one’s community, emphasizing on commitment to ethnically and economically diverse communities in urban/metropolitan educational institutions.
- Priority will be given for students who have demonstrated service in the field of literacy on either Oakland University’s campus (which could include a student organization) or through community service.
Students may only receive one Walters Endowed award in each academic year, but are otherwise eligible to apply for Endowment awards in other academic years.

Trumbull (Florine) Scholarship |
| Description | Recognizes academic achievement of entering students. Recipients must be graduates of Michigan high schools. Full-time enrollment is required. The award is renewable by maintaining a minimum 3.00 cumulative OU GPA, continuous full-time undergraduate enrollment in the fall and winter semesters, completion of full-time credits, and meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements. The maximum award is eight consecutive fall and winter semesters. Awards are made by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. |

Undergraduate Research Matching Grant in Art and Art History |
| Description | Upon application, the department may award a grant not to exceed $100 to any art history or studio art major, art history minor or studio art minor who receives a University Undergraduate Research Grant. This departmental grant is intended to supplement the initial grant, not to reduce the amount initially requested from the university research committee. If awarded, the departmental grant can be used to cover appropriate documented unanticipated or overrun expenses incurred in connection with the approved research project or creative activity.
The applicant must be a declared major or minor in good standing and must have been enrolled in classes at Oakland University for two consecutive (fall/winter) semesters in order to apply. To apply, the student must complete an application form and submit a copy of the Undergraduate Research Grant proposal and letter from the Oakland University Research Committee stating the amount of the award during the time period of the directed research project. |

Undergraduate Tuition Award |
| Description |
An award committee will select the awardee(s) based on exemplary student achievement, dedicated community service, commitment to your profession, and/or financial need. The winner(s) will be notified of the award by mail.
Eligibility Requirements:
- A full time undergraduate student in the School of Education and Human Services
- Cumulative grade point average of at least 2.8
- Completed at least one semester at Oakland University
- An essay describing how you have distinguished yourself academically. Describe awards and honors you have received, your involvement in the community, and your professional objectives
- Financial need, determined by OU's Financial Aid Office, may be considered, but is not required to apply
Recipients are eligible to reapply for the Undergraduate Tuition Award in future years.

Volkswagen of America Corporate Leadership Scholarship Award |
| Description | These awards were established to assist talented students pursuing a career in business.
Candidates seeking nomination for the Volkswagen of America Corporate Leadership Scholarship Award must submit the following information:
- Volkswagen of America Corporate Leadership Scholarship Award application
- Copy of Financial Aid award letter received from OU.*
- A written statement that addresses the applicants financial need.
- A written statement that addresses why the applicant is deserving of a Corporate Leadership Scholarship Award.
CANDIDATES MUST HAVE APPLIED FOR FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID (IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU APPLY BY FEBRUARY 1ST). THE AWARD LETTER COPY IS REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled full-time in the School of Business Administration taking a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
- Have junior standing (56 credit hours) and be pursuing a major within the School of Business Administration.
