Honors College Freshman Housing Award

DescriptionAwarded to incoming freshmen, who have been admitted to The Honors College, agree to live on campus in the Honors College Residence Hall, do not have any other housing support and demonstrate leadership and/or need. Students must have a minimum 3.7 GPA and have achieved a 27 or above on the ACT. Awards are $2,000 or $4,000 for the first year.  (Deadline for the 2015-2016) academic year, February 13, 2015)

Honors College Merit Award

DescriptionAwarded to Honors College sophomore, junior and senior students who are in good standing in The Honors College, have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and have exhibited exceptional academic achievement and leadership. Awards are not renewable. (Deadline to apply for the 2015-16 academic year is February 13, 2015)

Jones (J. Alford) Memorial Scholarship

DescriptionAwarded to students entering the Honors College. Applicants must have a minimum 3.70 grade point average, a composite score of 27 or above on the ACT examination, and be recommended by the Honors College Dean and Council. The amount of the scholarship is $2,000. Recipients must demonstrate financial need by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Awards are not renewable.  Awards are made by the Honors College. (Deadline to apply for the 2015-16 academic year is February 13, 2015)

Young Study Abroad Scholarship

Description

One-time Study Abroad scholarships are awarded to sophomore or junior Honors College students who are in good standing and have demonstrated leadership in campus activities, employment, or community involvement.  Awards range from $750 to $2,500 to be used in an educational plan approved by a faculty member.  Preference will be given to applicants employed at least 10 hours per week and demonstrating financial need as a hindrance to participating in the study abroad program.  Applicants must be willing to correspond with the Donors on how the program impacted their life.  Students are required to attend any acknowledgement event connected to the award.
