BRUCE STUCKMAN ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP

DescriptionThis scholarship will be given to an incoming freshman graduating from a Michigan high school with a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 and be enrolled in the School of Engineering and Computer Science pursuing a degree in electrical and computer engineering.  Students must reapply each year for renewal consideration.

CHRISTINE AND IVAN WILCOX MERIT SCHOLARSHIP

Description

This scholarship will be given to incoming freshmen, with a minimum 3.0 GPA, majoring in engineering with preference to those majoring in mechanical engineering.  Awards are given for merit and achievement without regard to financial need.  This scholarship is renewable for 4 years by maintaining a minimum 3.0 cumulative OU GPA, continuous full-time undergraduate enrollment in the fall and winter semesters, and completion of full-time credits.

JUDITH TINOR SCHOLARSHIP

Description

This scholarship will be given to students majoring in engineering.  Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA for consideration.  Students must reapply each year for renewal consideration.  Incoming freshmen and current students may apply.

MARGARET ASHDOWN ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP

DescriptionThis scholarship will be given to an undergraduate engineering student beginning with their sophomore year.  Freshmen completing their first year of study should apply.  Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and participate in extra-curricular activities such as membership in a professional organization or community service.  Students must reapply for renewal consideration.

MATERIALS ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP

DescriptionThis scholarship will be given to currently enrolled students who have major standing (enrolled in 300-400 level courses or a current graduate student) in the School of Engineering & Computer Science and are enrolled either full or part-time.  Preference may be given to students who are fluent in more than one language or who can demonstrate they are contributing to the quality of academic and student life at the University through their activities and interests.  Recipients are expected to demonstrate professionalism and ability to collaborate with others throughout their academic career, but especially as a recipient of this award.  Awards are renewable provided the student continues to meet eligibility requirements stated above.  Current undergraduate and graduate students may apply.

NHK INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION SCHOLARSHIP

DescriptionTo qualify for selection, student must have a GPA of 3.2 or higher, desire to major in engineering, be a full-time student enrolled in the SECS while holding the scholarship, and demonstrate professionalism and the ability to collaborate with others.  Consideration will be given to the student’s activities and interests, particularly those related to Asian culture, that demonstrate a potential to contribute to the quality of academic and student life at Oakland.  Current undergraduate and graduate students may apply. THE SOCIETY OF WOMEN ENGINEERS (SWE) SCHOLARSHIP

DescriptionOpen only to SWE members. Undergraduate or graduate students are eligible. Minimum GPA is 3.5/4.0 for freshman applicants and 3.0/4.0 for sophomore, junior, senior & graduate applicants. No minimum GPA for first year reentry applicants. The applicant should not be the current recipient of a renewable SWE Scholarship and must be a full time student, except for reentry applicants. Applicant should not be receiving full funding for education from another organization. Reentry scholarships are intended for students returning to school after at least two years out of school and have been out of the engineering workforce.
