College Readiness Boot Camp for Teens begins

Oakland University invites high school students to explore careers and prepare for college in interactive summer camps.
Students will explore various careers through interactive, engaging sessions that include hands-on activities, field trips and presentations. Presented by Oakland University faculty experts, the sessions offer students:
- a comprehensive look at current and emerging fields
- highlights of the knowledge and skills required for jobs in each field
- information concerning projected employment
- steps to take now, while in high school, to begin preparing for their future.
The cost includes transportation for scheduled field trips, lunch, snacks and T-shirt.
All camps will be held at Oakland University’s Anton/Frankel Center, 20 South Main Street, Mount Clemens

It’s never too early to start thinking about college. The interactive sessions in this camp help students explore various careers and college majors, understand the differences between the higher education options available, and identify tools they can use to discover their dream college. Attendees also learn how to begin preparing for college while in high school with AP, IB, Dual Enrollment and preparation for the ACT, the basics of financial aid, and how to search and write scholarship essays. This three-day camp wraps up with an interactive college tour of Oakland University. Sessions meet 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
