Tracking your Scholarly Publications impact on Clinical Research and Practice

Thousands of journal articles are published each year  Disseminating the results of clinical research. How do you know if your research is having an impact on the field and contributing to best practice in clinical care? This session will cover a variety of scholarly metrics, including the h-index, impact factor, and total citations, and how you can use them effectively in evaluating your contribution to the field. In addition, information
resources for locating and tracking your scholarly work will be demonstrated such as Web of Science, Google Scholar, and ORCID.

Learning Objectives:
- Define the h-index, impact factor, and total citations and differentiate between these metrics

- Discuss current trends in the use of scholarly metrics to evaluate faculty work at 
  hospitals, research institutions, and grant agencies

- Recognize the limitations of scholarly metrics, particularly for evaluating your scholarly work

- Locate scholarly metrics using Web of Science & Google Scholar

- Create an individual researcher profile using Google Scholar or ORCID
