White Coat Ceremony
8/8/2014, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
The White Coat Ceremony marks the beginning of each student’s journey toward becoming a physician. For more than 100 years, the white coat has been worn by physicians, symbolizing the trust between patient and physician. In the presence of family, guests, and faculty members, students are welcomed to the profession by leaders of the medical community and ceremonially “cloaked” with their white coat. Then, along with the physicians in attendance, they stand to take an oath as a reminder of their loyalty to the profession.
