Google Glass App Development Competition Information Meeting
2/10/2014, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Oakland University students are invited to become Glassware developers by identifying and developing concepts for game-changing technology in the School of Business Administration’s Google Glass App Development Team Competition that launches Feb. 10. Through this Glassware competition, teams are challenged to identify a unique-to-Glass app idea and develop it to proof of concept using the Glass Development Kit following the competition guidelines.

An information session about the competition will take place at 5 p.m., Feb. 10, in the Elliott Hall Auditorium.

At least one person from a potential team should attend the session. Students with ideas but are not yet a member of a team are encouraged to attend to meet potential teammates. Each team is strongly encouraged to include a business student.

Top teams will be selected as semi-finalists to present their concept to a panel of judges and be eligible for competition awards.

The competition is being coordinated by the Decision & Information Sciences Department of Oakland University's School of Business Administration.

Google Glass is not yet available to the public. Only about 10,000 Glass Explorers – including business school MIS instructor Amy Rutledge who is organizing the competition along with visiting professor Jerry DeHondt  -- were invited to participate in the product’s early distribution. This puts Oakland University and its students in a select group of institutions to have access to the product.
