1/22/2014, 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM
Portraits of People with Disabilities Display in North Hall of the Oakland Center Disability Support Services This program is a 20 photo-text exhibit exploring interpersonal relationships by telling the stories of those whose identities, experiences and voices are often stifled by oppression and intolerance. The Road to Freedom gives people with disabilities the opportunity to tell their stories and share glimpses of their everyday lives in order to help challenge stereotypes and reduce prejudice and discrimination. This event is a part of the African-American Celebration Month festivities at Oakland University which takes place from January 20 - February 20. This month long celebration reflects OU’s ongoing commitment to celebrating the historical and cultural contributions that African Americans have made in the past, present and future.
