Amanda Pabyan, soprano recital

Amanda Pabyan is of America’s most distinguished lyric-coloratura sopranos. She was described by The New York Times as “a brilliant coloratura” and “technically agile, clarion toned and incisive.”
Ms. Pabyan made her Metropolitan Opera debut as the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflote under the baton of James Levine. She sang this role throughout the United States. Other operatic highlights include Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with Syracuse Opera, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro with Syracuse Opera, Kostanze in Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail for Arizona Opera, Anchorage Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, and Opera Atelier, and the title role in Gluck’s Orphee et Eurydice at Glimmerglass Opera.
She will be accompanied by Julia Siciliano. Ms. Siciliano is an award winning concert pianist, who has been heralded as a musician with “fabulous creative power.” She has become a well-respected and anticipated rising talent on the world stage, being invited as a solo artist most recently with the Macon Symphony Orchestra. A winner of many local and international piano competitions, Julia has won top prizes at the Heida Hermanns International Competition, Iowa Piano Competition, MTNA National Competition, Beethoven Sonata Competition, Eastman Concerto Competition, and University of Michigan Concerto Competition.
