DESCRIPTION OF EVENT

The OU Criminal Justice Program presents an evening of community dialogue about the War on Drugs. The event kicks off with an opening reception featuring free refreshments and information tables representing local criminal justice, mental health, and other social service agencies that serve communities affected by the drug war. Following this reception will be a screening of the award-winning documentary, The House I Live In, winner of the 2012 Sundance Grand Jury Award. The film addresses important social issues related to the drug war including poverty, racism, public policy, and social justice. After a brief intermission, the film’s director, Eugene Jarecki, will address and take questions from the audience. This event is free and open to the public.
