Letter from OU President Gary Russi:
On behalf of Oakland University, thank you for your generous support and contributions in 2002. Through your gifts of time, leadership and financial commitment you are making a lasting difference in the lives of Oakland students and faculty, who in turn improve the world around us.
As Oakland advances toward its 2010 goal of delivering an even more distinctive educational experience for our students, I am continually impressed with the interest and support of OU donors, alumni and friends who are committed to upholding the ideals of academic excellence.
In 2002, the university received gifts across the disciplines that have helped students succeed. These include scholarships, funding for new undergraduate research and real-world learning experiences made possible through industry and community partnerships.
To continue to offer students these opportunities, I ask for your support in the coming year. At a time of shrinking state budgets for higher education, our future depends on the partnerships we form with individuals, corporations and foundations. You can help ensure that every student graduates from OU with a portfolio of skills necessary for success in the 21st-century workplace and society.
My sincere thanks and deepest appreciation,
Gary D. Russi
