OU's Students in Free Enterprise team hosted high school students from across metro Detroit for its first-ever Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship regional competition in April. Two OU professors joined 1,800 people in South Africa in December for an International Women's Convocation. Assistant Professors Ilene Ingram, from the Department of Educational Leadership, and Olivia A. Williams, from the Department of Human Development and Child Studies, joined an ecumenical group of business and professional women to increase global awareness of the plight of indigent women in South Africa. Bobbie Schaefer, a junior from Birch Run, Mich., earned a $5,250 scholarship sponsored by UPS and Stacy Ruby, a senior from Hazel Park, Mich., was awarded a $3,375 scholarship from Ford Motor Company.
