But it’s a niche she’s built for herself — from the ground up. Senior project manager for commercial real estate company Jones Lang LaSalle, Bowen isn’t quite 5’ 2”, but she’s a towering dynamo who oversees large commercial construction projects. The Hilton Garden Inn and Wayne State University’s fitness center stand as two concrete successes.

Asmaa “Annette” Jamil, SBA ’95, MIS ’00, feels that she’s been fortunate enough to live it. As owner and president of Critter Catchers, a wildlife control company, the Oxford, Mich., native recently set up a grant administered by the Organization for Bat Conservation (OBC) to bring its live bat program (based at the Cranbrook Institute of Science) to metro Detroit schools.
