Adviser Awards & Recognition

Our professional advisers have been recognized by both on-campus partners and national colleagues for their dedication to academic advising and innovative programming aimed at student success. In other words, you’re in good hands! 

Each year, the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) honors select individuals and institutions making significant contributions to the improvement of academic advising. Since 2008, the OU Academic Advisers have received recognition for both our advising team members and special programs. Recent recipients are: 

2013-2014

“Advising Week” – Advising Program of the Year
The Outstanding Professional Academic Adviser Award is given annually to recognize an academic adviser for extraordinary work in building mentoring relationships, developing strong leadership skills, contributing to the creation of new programs and achieving high student satisfaction. Students can nominate excellent advisers in the fall of each year.  Recent recipients are:

  • 2011-2012: Lorin Wright, School of Education and Human Services
