The list of academic options at Oakland University is constantly growing. OU currently offers more than 130 undergraduate degrees and more than 120 graduate and certificate options. Students have the opportunity to participate in high-level research as early as their freshman year.


Music, Theatre
and Dance

More than 100 student and faculty performances are offered through the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance.

College of Arts and Sciences

Demonstrating OU's commitment to undergraduate research, more than 100 undergrads participate in the Meeting of Minds Conference each year. The College is also home to the Richard Burke Lecture Series in Philosophy, Religion and Society, which honors OU's first faculty member. Join one of the College's award-winning student groups recognized for research, classroom and service excellence such as the Model United Nations team or OU's chapter of Phi Alpha Theta.


Changing Lives Through Coffee

A business student-led initiative focused on helping members of a Panamanian community leverage resources to grow and sustain a coffee business.

School of Business Administration

Undergraduate and graduate programs center on integrating theory, leading-edge research and real-world experience to give them a true understanding of how business works, preparing you for immediate success.


 

Oakland University has partnered with Auburn Elementary to teach tomorrow's leaders and today's readers.

A 127,000-square-foot facility will feature state-of-the-art classrooms and research space and serve as the heart of the Engineering and Computer Science community at Oakland University. The building is on schedule to open in fall 2014.

School of Engineering and Computer Science

Leveraging OU's proximity to the auto industry, faculty and students take advantage of unique research opportunities. From GPS devices and communication systems to clean energy, SECS faculty are on the front lines of automotive research. The school's research centers allow scholars to collaborate with automakers as well as military units.


School of Health Sciences

The School of Health Sciences is passionate about providing students with the best science-based health education, high-quality academic preparation, interdisciplinary teaching and excellence in instruction in the classroom and clinical laboratory.


Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine

The Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine offers a unique curriculum and patient-centered philosophy to prepare physicians to practice 21st century medicine. As a pivotal partner in Oakland County's Medical Main Street initiative, the OUWB School of Medicine is training more doctors, helping position Southeast Michigan as a thriving center for biotechnology and biomedicine research.


School of Nursing

All of the Oakland University School of Nursing academic programs are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) - from undergraduate to the highest degree for clinical nursing practice, the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).


Graduate Study

Faculty and staff in Graduate Study and Lifelong Learning strive for academic excellence in post-baccalaureate education, ensuring graduate programs are directly linked to research and the solution of technological, social, economic and political issues.

A New Home

The Honors College will move into the new residence hall in fall 2014 with dedicated learning facilities, as well as social and collaboration spaces that will extend support for aspirational undergraduates to reach their full potential.
