Master of Education in Special Education
Oakland University's M.Ed. in Special Education is available completely online beginning in Fall, 2011. NEW!


Oakland University Online - Autism Spectrum Disorder Endorsement (ASD) - First or Subsequent Endorsement
All courses in OU's Autism Spectrum Disorder Endorsement (ASD) program are offered online. Both general and special education teachers with Michigan teaching certification are eligible to apply. 

This program is also offered at off-campus locations in Michigan and on campus.


Autism Spectrum Disorder Endorsement (ASD) - ACE Program - Second Endorsement Only
For certified teachers with a prior endorsement in any area of Special Education, the 24-credit Autism Spectrum Disorder Endorsement for Teaching (ASD) program is offered online. ASD endorsement details 
  • Apply by selecting Oakland University as your home university in the ACE program.


    Hybrid Format - Autism Spectrum Disorder Endorsement (ASD) - First or Subsequent Endorsement
    Hybrid delivery is one option in the Autism Spectrum Disorder Endorsement for Teaching (ASD) program. OU's cohort programs combine off-campus sessions with online learning.  The endorsement is offered as a first or subsequent special education endorsement. ASD endorsement details 

    Education Specialist Degree in Leadership with Winter and Fall Cohort Starts
    Learn more about the distance learning EdS in Leadership. All courses are delivered online. No campus visits are required.

    Master of Education Degree in Teacher Leadership, Fall Hybrid  or Winter Online Cohort Options
    Hybrid format in Macomb and on campus starting in Fall
    One Saturday session a month and the remainder delivered online

    Online cohort beginning in Winter, with all classes are delivered online

    Graduate Certificate in IB Education, IB Teacher Award (Fall Hybrid or Winter Online Cohort Options)
    Oakland University’s International Baccalaureate® (IB) Teacher Award graduate certificate is an in-depth, series of courses that prepares Certified Teachers to become teachers and administrators in K-12 IB World schools. OU is one of only 11 universities worldwide offering this graduate level award in cooperation with the International Baccalaureate® Organization.

    Career Development Facilitator Training (CDF e-Learning)
    An extensive certificate program endorsed by the National Career Development Association for career development professionals.  CDF eLearning and combination classroom/online formats are offered at several locations.
