Oakland University hosting engineering, computer science and information technology career fair at Mount Clemens location

Anton/Frankel Center in Mount Clemens to host career fair January 14
Mount Clemens, Mich. – Oakland University will spotlight fast-growing careers in engineering, computer science and information technology during an information session from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at the OU Anton/Frankel Center in Mount Clemens.

Through this interactive event, attendees will discover the latest trends in current and emerging careers, explore bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs offered at Oakland University's Rochester campus and Macomb County locations, and meet with faculty experts from information technology, computer science and various engineering fields, including electrical engineering, computer engineering, industrial and systems engineering, and mechanical engineering. In addition, OU advising staff will be on hand to provide information about transfer credits and admissions requirements.

Citing increased demand for technology and engineering professionals, especially in southeast Michigan, event organizers see these programs as a valuable asset in bolstering the job market, both locally and beyond.

"Engineers turn their ideas into reality, says Julie Trube, interim executive director of Oakland University in Macomb County. "Professionals can work in a variety of industries and be involved with new technologies, alternative energy and environmentally sustainable buildings, designing and building virtual reality worlds, or discovering new materials."

The OU Anton/Frankel Center is located at 20 South Main Street in downtown Mount Clemens. For more information or to RSVP to the event, visit
