Benefits Corner
|
Non-Bargained, POLC and POAM Employees: As you know, there will be changes to the medical benefits offered for 2010. In an effort to give you information to make an informed choice during open enrollment, we held information sessions in July and had the representatives from each medical plan on campus in August to answer 1 on 1 questions. If you missed the presentations in July, you can view the materials at the UHR web site under Announcements or by clicking here.
Additional sessions will be held this fall prior to open enrollment. Detailed information about each plan will be included with the open enrollment materials you will receive in October.
If you have questions about the new 2010 medical plan offerings stop into the Benefits Office in 142 NFH or contact us at benefits@oakland.edu.

SkillSoft Course Highlight:
Defining Emotional Intelligence Course Full Description >>
Does
IQ determine your destiny? For years, that was an overriding belief.
However, new behavioral research shows that IQ provides, at best, a
narrow view of human intelligence. Factors such as self-awareness,
impulse control, persistence, zeal, self-motivation, empathy, and
social deftness contribute greatly to an individual's success. These
qualities, termed "emotional intelligence," often determine if people
excel in life, relationships, and the workplace. In this course, you'll
learn more about these specific characteristics and how they influence
every area of your life.
Introducing the AP Management and Leadership Site
The AP Leadership Resource site is a rich and varied treasury
of tips, hints, and guidelines for being a valuable leader and manager
at Oakland University.
These resources are part of SkillSoft online courseware available from
Oakland University at no cost to our employees. If you
are interested in taking the full online courses, and do not already
have a SkillSoft account, you will need to contact Dana Pierce at dpierce@oakland.edu with your name, department, and email address.
Please
feel free to read, download, and/or print the various Skill Briefs and
Job Aids as they are sure to be helpful and useful to you!
Click here to log into PortAdm and select "SkillSoft Online Training"!
